A spin on a Ramos Fizz to create a teal Aquarius themed cocktail that taste like Ocean Water.
Hip Hip Hooray, it’s my birthday!
This water bearer has turned 28 and to be honest, I can’t believe I’m already writing another birthday post! Can we take a step back and give a laugh at how I’m ironically an Aquarius, a filler of cups.
I don’t give too much into the Zodiac world but I think it is fun to notice similarities between those with close birthdays, plus it satisfies my Greek God history obsession. Aquarius is represented by Ganymede and the story goes that Ganymede was stolen away from his home in Troy by Jupiter and worked as a cupbearer for the Greek Gods. So I took that inspiration and gave a classic Ramos Fizz an Aquarius boost. Aquarius is known for being unique, attracted to the colors light blue & silver, and modern. A Ramos Fizz, while classic, it is different. Typically it’s gin, lemon, egg white (optional)*, cream, sugar, orange flower water, and soda. It’s a smooth delicious drink that is worth the effort. My spin gives this cocktail a creative taste that we Aquarius’ love to harness. It’s the perfect, velvety drink to make any day flow a little bit better.
This cocktail is fairly easy, it just requires a good bit of shaking. Into a shaker goes coconut vodka, egg white*, lemon juice, heavy cream, orange flower water, and blue curacao. Give it a 5 second shake. Then add ice to the liquid line in your shaker and give it a 45 – 60 second shake from there. (The originally Ramos Fizz recipe called for an 11 minute shake, so one minute isn’t that shabby)
Strain into a chilled highball and top off with sparkling mineral water.

The egg whites* and cream give it this delicious froth on top that’s a mix of meringue and heavy whip cream. The body is smooth and easy to sip with tastes of orange & coconut. The mix of flavors taste like a Sonic Ocean Water that will have you dying for a refill from your favorite water bearer.
*The egg white is optional here but let’s talk about it. The egg white gives it this velvety smooth texture that can’t be beat. It makes this cocktail go from an 8 to an 11! However if raw egg is not your thing, it’s perfectly fine to omit you just might have a slightly different textures drink.
- 1-1/2 ounces Coconut Vodka
- 1 ounce Lemon Juice
- 1 Egg White
- 1 ounce Heavy Cream
- 1/2 ounce Blue Curacao
- 2 drops Orange Flower Water
- Sparkling Water To Top Off
Add all your ingredients into a shaker (minus the sparkling water) and give it a hard shake for 10 seconds.
Then add ice into your shaker to the fill line and give it a hard shake for 45 seconds.
Strain into a chilled highball and top off with sparkling water. Serve with optional orange zest or orange peel garnish.
*Egg white is optional but will change the texture of the drink.
