To pass the time leading up to the premier of Beauty and The Beast, it is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that I welcome you to this blog. And now, I invite you to relax, let me pull up a chair, as the bar room proudly presents your cocktail. Be my guest with this The Belle cocktail.
Are you even surprised? You really shouldn’t be. As a kid growing up I was the poster child for Disney. I don’t think there was a movie that I didn’t watch nor fell into a deep obsession with. (I may or may not have known all the dalmatians names…) The one that stuck with me the most was Beauty and the Beast though. I always related to Belle out of all the princesses and the storyline of seeing past someone’s exterior still gets me to this day. I even have photo evidence somewhere in an attic of the sheer terror and excitement I had meeting The Beast at Disney. Needless to say, I’ve been elated about the live action version coming to theaters next week. Bonus to my sweet heart my other childhood heroine Hermione Granger’s Emma Watson, will be Belle. Excuse me while I die of excitement even more inside.
To make this The Belle cocktail all you need is Limoncello, vodka, rose water, lemon, and Chambord. Limoncello is a deliciously refreshing lemon liquor and by adding the tiniest bit of rose water, it gets elevated to this beautifully floral martini. The Chambord sinker slowly mergers with your martini as your sip it for a sweet raspberry finish. Since Belle in french I really wanted to work with European liquors to make a drink that could represent her.
I am so in love with how this cocktail turned out from it looking like Belle’s dress to how the flavors come together. Needless to say, I may have to sip on one before we go see the movie premiere. So let me know down below, what was your favorite movie growing up and how did you learn from it? Belle for me was the girl who wanted to read till her heart gave out, expand her horizons, and pushed to see the good in people. I try to strive to do these things daily and it’s funny to find such similarities from a character of my childhood.
Until next tale as old as time, cheers!
- 3 ounces Limoncello
- 3 ounces Vodka
- 1/2 ounces Lemon Juice
- 1 drop Rose Water
- 1/2 ounce Chambord Raspberry Liqueur
-
To a shaker filled of ice add in your Limoncello, Vodka, Lemon Juice, and Rose Water. Shake vigorously for 20 seconds.
-
To the bottom of your martini glass add in your Chambord. Using the back of a bar spoon held up to the inside of the martini glass wall, slowly pour your martini from your shaker onto the back of the spoon to spread evenly into the glass. Raising the spoon as the liquid line fills higher, giving you a layered cocktail effect.
-
Optional: Serve with a lemon twist or edible rose petals.
