The “She’s Your Aunt, Jon” Game of Thrones inspired cocktail is a tequila, white rum, and crème de cassis cocktail with notes of pineapple and orange. This highball drink is a stiff cocktail because when Jon finds out the truth, he’s going to need something tall & strong. We will too. (Does contain spoilers…but it’s been over a year since the last episode..sooooo)

“She’s Your Aunt, Jon!” Is what I screamed at the television for the entirety of season 7 any time Daenerys and Jon would interact. Honestly, didn’t we all? (I know some of you are for their relationship, you’re wrong.) I made sure I had a strong drink ready to get me through the last episode of season 7 when we rewatched it recently because woof. You truly know nothing, Jon Snow.
I imagine at some point Sam or Bran are going to deliver a similar line to Jon when he finds out he’s Aegon…we made a drink for that too…and our boy is going to need something strong to tackle that with. Bare minimum, if you “Jonerys” fans get what you want, then I’m going to need something stiff. So I’ve made this boozed up highball that is sort of like a fancy Tequila Sunrise. This Tequila and Rum drink is coming with a warning to only drink 2 maximum in one evening, it’s stiff with 3.5 ounces of total alcohol in it. This cocktail is fruity with notes of pineapple, orange, lemon, and black currant giving it a lovely tropical vibe. Which means it’s super easy to put down, so you’ve been warned. More importantly, I’ve been warned because..woof Jonerys.
SHE’S YOUR AUNT, JON COCKTAIL
I know you’ll ask. Can you turn this into a batch cocktail for your friends for a Game of Thrones party? Ehhhh, with some work around. I’d drastically lower the alcohol ratio and up the juices to make it a punch unless you don’t love your friends. Then I’d keep the crème de cassis off to the side to be added into cocktails as they are poured.
To make this, it’s really simple. Into a cocktail shaker full of ice pour in pineapple juice, silver tequila, white rum, orange juice, and lemon juice. Shake for 15 seconds and strain into a highball glass full of ice.
Using the back of a bar spoon, in the same fashion as making a Tequila Sunrise, pour crème de cassis over the back of the bar spoon, into the cocktail. It will float down to the bottom giving it this lovely ombre cocktail effect. That’s it!
If you don’t have crème de cassis (black currant liqueur) you can always sub Chambord/raspberry liqueur into this cocktail. It will give it a slightly different taste but will keep its overall theme.
This cocktail is fruity but not in your face sweet because that’s not how I like it. I like to still taste the booze. If you’re wanting to make something fruity and sweeter (to each their own!) you can add 0.25 ounces of simple syrup into the shaker and that should fix it up perfectly for you.

The "She's Your Aunt, Jon" Game of Thrones inspired cocktail is a tequila, white rum, and crème de cassis cocktail with notes of pineapple and orange. This highball drink is a stiff cocktail because when Jon finds out the truth, he's going to need something tall & strong or we will too.
- 3 ounces Pineapple Juice
- 1.5 ounces Silver Tequila
- 1.5 ounces White Rum
- 1.5 ounces Orange Juice
- 0.25 ounce Lemon Juice
- 0.25 ounces Crème de Cassis (black currant liqueur, can sub Chambord/raspberry liqueur)
Into a cocktail shaker full of ice pour into it pineapple juice, silver tequila, white rum, orange juice, and lemon juice. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds.
In a highball (10+ oz) glass filled with ice, strain the cocktail into the glass. The pineapple juice may have created a foam, let it settle or stir it into the cocktail before the next step.
Over the back of a bar spoon, carefully pour in the crème de cassis into the cocktail. It will run down the cocktail and sink to the bottom.
Serve immediately with a straw and optional lemon or orange rind garnish.
**This is a high proof cocktail containing 3.25 ounces of liquor. We recommend only consuming 2 in an evening.
I’m not going to lie, this might be on repeat for the last episode to get through my emotions of the show ending. Anyone else? The pineapple and orange make for a tasty citrus drink and the black currant still brings this depth that is almost berry-like. It’s a bit like fruity pebbles but like if you poured rum and tequila into your fruity pebbles instead of milk.
Cheers, Jon. I think you’re going to need this one. Just remember, SHE’S YOUR AUNT, JON. DON’T DO IT….agian. Tell me down below if you’re riding the Jonery’s ship or you’re hard pressed against, like me. I think we can all agree on one thing. Jon better not be the least bit surprised he’s a Targaryen because the boy is keeping up the house traditions like a pro.
