Rolling along with our theme of healthier cocktails, I have another kombucha cocktail recipe for you today. I talked last week about the benefits of kombucha and how in general, it’s a fun and healthier ingredient to play with in cocktails. This Pomegranate Kombucha Gin Fizz is similar to a classic gin fizz recipe the uses gin, lemon, and sugar. It’s tart, bubbly, and refreshing. I think sitting in the sun with this cocktail would be the perfect happy hour.
When it comes to healthier cocktails, I try to keep them light, to avoid that heavy feeling often associated with drinking alcohol. I use Health-Ade Pomegranate Kombucha for this cocktail and it has enough sweetness that I removed it from the original recipe. A gin fizz can also be shaken with an egg white for a frothy finish. It’s optional, as I’ve not done it here but you can add it in for a bonus. Bonus points, this one is simple to make!
Pomegranate Kombucha Gin Fizz
Since kombucha can fizz up when you shake it, we’re going to add it in after we shake the gin and lemon juice together.
Into a shaker full of ice add in gin and lemon juice. Shaking for 8-10 shakes until the gin is chilled and combined with the lemon. In a highball filled with ice, we’ll start by pouring in pomegranate kombucha. Then the gin and lemon mixture from the shaker. Top it all off with sparkling water. I prefer Topo Chico but any sparkling water will work great.
Give it a stir with a bar spoon and serve. I like to garnish it with a maraschino cherry and lemon rind. Though a fresh cherry would work wonders too.

I love a pretty in pink cocktail, don’t you? This little number can be jazzed up with any kombucha that you love. Just use the rest of the recipe as a base to make Apple Gin Fizzes, Ginger Gin Fizzes, or whatever could possibly spark your imagination with kombucha.
