Given the chance, I will always pick juice over soda. Juice has been my jam since my 90’s juice box days. With the new trend in mocktails and zero alcohol cocktails, it’s a great time for quality juices to shine in the mixology world. I’m elated, to say the least. Juice can transform any bland mocktail to a cocktail that “never needed the booze anyway”. To make room for more zero alcohol cocktails recipes on the blog and to play with one of my favorite juice company’s products, I’ve gotten together with Farm Dog Juices to make this Pomegranate Gimlet Mocktail. This faux Gimlet is every bit as tart and refreshing as the classic drink but without the gin. So if you’re looking for a way to get down on your happy hour without the buzz, keep reading…or if you do want a buzz, I’ve added notes on how to incorporate it into the drink.
Faux Pomegranate Gimlet Recipe
This is a simple cocktail recipe and only requires 4 ingredients. Lime, simple syrup, Farm Dog Juices Pomegranate Juice, and club soda (optional).
A little background on Farm Dog Juices. It’s a family-owned farm that grows and juices its own fruits out of California. With a focus on sustainability, they find a home for the imperfect fruits by using them in their recipes. They use one of my favorite methods, cold pressing their juices for a flavor that is orchard-fresh while maintaining the benefits that come from juice. Meaning it’s 100% juice!
The flavor they have bottled I’ve found to be perfect for reworking classic cocktails while avoiding that watered-down/too thin feeling mocktails can often have. Which is why I love them! They have a range of flavors from Pomegranate to Lemonades, Orange, and Pineapple juices. The awesome thing about this cocktail recipe is that you can use any of their juice flavors for a tasty non-alcoholic gimlet recipe. DIY Faux Gimlet Bar for a shower, anyone?
