It’s #NationalMargaritaDay and I’m rounding up some of Elle Talk’s favorite margarita recipes with a few extra tequila-based cocktails thrown in for fun.
Recipe is for those ages 21+.
Margaritas. They are kind of this perfect balance of tart citrus, a touch of sweetness, and depending on your choice of tequila smokey or smooth. It’s why so many people enjoy them and there is now a national holiday around the occasion. (Two technically if you count Cinco de Mayo) Bars across the US will be dropping margarita special left and right. If you’re like me and Fridays are a day you want to close out the work week at home. Then you can still celebrate with these 7 margarita recipes from the Elle Talk archives that you can make at home. From blue margaritas to our classic lite on calories margarita, we’ve got plenty of options. I’ve also thrown in 2 bonus tequila drinks if a margarita is not your thing.
How will you be celebrating National Margarita Day?

Blenderless Frozen Chili Mango Margaritas
Maybe you’re in college. Maybe your blender breaks down on a chunk of ice. These frozen margaritas are made with mango sorbet and a little elbow work out. We hit it with a bit of chili powder to cut down the extra sweetness from the sorbet. Click for recipe.
Kasey’s Margarita Sangria
In an ode to my margarita loving High School friend and fellow blogger, Kasey At The Bat, I made this mix of a white wine sangria and margarita. It’s citrus, boozy, and so dang good. Click for recipe!
The underdog of the tequila world this classic drink deserves higher praises. If you like Moscow Mules and you like tequila, you’ll love this black currant and ginger beer highball. Click for recipe!
What is it about tequila and spicy cocktails? This cocktail is HOT but with the sweetness of grenadine, it’s nothing you can’t handle. If you’ve ever thought a tequila sunrise was too sweet, give this remix a try. Click for recipe!
