It’s football pre-season, which basically means game day is back! We are major football watching fans at our home and that means Sunday Fundays will be coming back in full swing. I love nothing more than opening up a cold one with dips & chips at the ready. So to start this football season off I’ve whipped up this Life’s A Peach beer cocktail that’s easy to make in bulk for game day entertaining.
This beetail is a michelada meets bellini drink that comes together to be hoppy, sweet, and slightly spicy. Which makes it’s a pretty stellar brunch cocktail too. You can use Kolsch style beer or if you want more hops it works perfectly with IPAs too. Why are we calling this one “Life’s a Peach?” Because we all know that bitter defeat when your home team loses and you just need a drink to sip away the pain. So sip it down with a drink that get’s sometimes “Life’s a Peach”.
LIFE’S A PEACH – BEER COCKTAIL
Grab a bar spoon because that’s really all you need to create this easy beer cocktail.
Into a pin glass that’s been rimmed with chili salt, add your bar spoon then fill the glass with ice. Pour in 4.5 ounces of peach nectar (or juice), 1.5 ounces of lime juice, 0.75 ounces vodka, and 3 dashes of Tabasco. Give it a stir and then top it off with a Kolsch beer and give it a finally stir. Garnish with a lime peel or wheel.
In the past I’ve had spicy and sweet cocktails that give you that nice back of the throat burn. That wasn’t my goal with this one, it’s suppose to be subtle. If you want to amp up the Tabasco for more spice, go all out!
The same can be said for which beer you use. For this I use Karbach’s Love Street. It’s a light and crisp beer that has good flavor. If you’re like my husband who loves a kick of hops, then you can absolutely use an IPA or DIPA in this drink.
