It’s a little bittersweet that this will be my last Game of Thrones post. Since most of our favorites are headed off to the North to battle the Dead Army, I thought, why not freeze your guests at your Game of Thrones party? Going out in a bang these are 4 different Game of Thrones inspired Boozy Popsicles, each representing a major house in the series. Let guests pick their house or who they think will sit on the Iron Throne while they munch down on a frozen cocktail.
We’ve got Lannister Sangria Popsicles, Stark Moscow Mule Popsicles, Targaryen Spicy Whiskey Smash Popsicles, and Baratheon Piña Colada Popsicles. There is a little frozen cocktail for everyone making these the ultimate Game of Thrones party treat that also happens to be an awesome make-ahead party recipe. Which house will you represent?
GAME OF THRONES ALCOHOLIC POPSICLES
This recipe makes a total of 12 popsicles – 3 of each flavor. You can double and triple the recipes to make more of each or if you just want to make a lot of one flavor. The main things you’ll need are popsicle bags, I used these exact ones. They worked great for me, none of them exploded or leaked.
You’ll also need a little funnel, 2-cup measuring cup, and a blender. I use a Ninja blender and it works fantastic for me.
If you’d like to decorate your popsicle bags, do so before you start making your popsicles. I used a vinyl cutter and cut out each house logo for two of the bags. Then I used a Game of Thrones inspired font for the house names on the rest. If you don’t have a vinyl cutter you can print the houses and house names out on paper. Then lay the popsicle bags over the design and trace the design onto the bag with a sharpie or paint pen.
STRAWBERRY SANGRIA POPSICLES – HOUSE LANNISTER
Wine…Lannisters. Do I even have to explain it? I did use pre-made red wine sangria. You can make your own but when it comes to party prep, I think easier is better. Use the leftover Sangria for guests to pour and call it “Cersei Tears”.
Into a blender, you’ll want to combine 1 cup of red wine sangria and 1 cup of strawberries without their stems. Blend until it’s a smooth and very thin puree. Pour it into a large measuring cup for easier handling. Taking a popsicle bag, open it and put the funnel in the top of it. Carefully pour the sangria mixture up to the fill line. (Don’t exceed it, don’t pass go, don’t collect 100 dragons. They will explode like the Sept of Baelor.) Seal it and put it upright in the freeze for a minimum of 3 hours.
Listen 3 hours is going to get you a slushie texture (it’s delicious) but if you want a really solid popsicle give them a minimum of 6 hours. This applies to all of these!
PIÑA COLADA BOOZY POPSICLES – HOUSE BARATHEON
I read a fan theory years ago that Gendry is actually the son of Cersei and Robert. The son she talks about losing in Season 1. The theory states she gave him to Jamie to get rid of because you know that’s how she is about Robert. So Jamie gave him to a woman in Flea Bottom. It’s why his blood could kill kings but Shereen’s did nothing. So I’m not 100% set on the fact that we’re done with the Baratheon house line. I mean heck, it’s still one of four main houses used in the logo. However, if you feel differently, this could easily be House Greyjoy as they too are Yellow and Black.
Again using Piña Colada Mixer to make things easier. Into a blender, you’ll want to combine 1/3 cup fresh pineapple cut in chunks, 1/3 cup of White Rum, and 2/3 cup of piña colada Mix. Blend until it’s smooth and creamy. Pour it into a large measuring cup for easier handling. Taking a popsicle bag, open it and put the funnel in the top of it. Carefully pour the colada mixture up to the fill line. Seal it and put it upright in the freeze for a minimum of 3 hours.
MOSCOW MULE POPSICLES – HOUSE STARK
When frozen this gives a nice white and icy texture that seemed fitting for a house so far North.
This is not a blender one because we’re using carbonated ginger beer.
Into a large (2-cup) measuring cup stir together 2/3 cup of ginger beer, 1/4 cup of lime juice, and 1/3 cup of vodka. Stir it until it’s well combined. Taking a popsicle bag, open it and put the funnel in the top of it. Carefully pour the Moscow Mule mixture up to the fill line. Seal it halfway, leaving a small air hole for carbonation to escape. Put it upright in the freeze for a minimum of 3 hours.
Sans the air hole…you might blow up your popsicle like the Battle of Blackwater. No one wants to clean that up.
SPICY WHISKEY SMASH POPSICLES – HOUSE TARGARYEN
Daenerys seems like a whiskey gal. It’s got a bite and heat to it that I think she would enjoy. This blackberry whiskey smash has an extra bit of heat brought on by blending jalapeño into the mixture. That’s completely optional, I know not everyone likes spicy things.
Into a blender, you’ll want to combine 2/3 cup of Blueberry Lemonade, 1/3 cup of whiskey, 1/2 cup of blackberries, and 1/2 a teaspoon of chopped jalapeño (you can use more if you like it really spicy). Blend until the berries and jalapeño have gone smooth and you have a very thin puree. Pour it into a large measuring cup for easier handling. Taking a popsicle bag, open it and put the funnel in the top of it. Carefully pour the whiskey smash mixture up to the fill line. Seal it and put it upright in the freeze for a minimum of 3 hours.
Don’t have blueberry lemonade near you? Use regular lemonade and blend 1/2 cup of blueberries into the mixture. You might want to strain it as the blueberry skins will still be around, though I’m a fan of leaving it in.

Into a blender combine 2/3 cup Blueberry Lemonade, 1/3 cup Whiskey, 1/2 teaspoon chopped Jalapeño and 1/2 cup Blackberries. Blend until the blackberries have smoothed out and you have a very thin puree. If it's not spicy enough for you, you can add more jalapeño. Freezing this will tone down the spiciness.

Letting popsicles freeze for 3 hours will result in more slushie based popsicles. Equally delicious! To let the alcohol really set up freeze for 6 hours or overnight.
Though I made the decorations on the popsicle bags before I made the mixtures. I was hoping the coloring would be much darker but alas it wasn’t. If I went back I’d make the stickers black on those bags.
Outside of that, the Moscow Mule/House Stark gives this neat airy texture due to the carbonation of the soda. The Sangria/House Lannister is just downright tasty and you can never go wrong with a popsicle version of a Piña Colada/House Baratheon. What house would you represent? Who are you hoping sits on the Iron Throne? My favorite house I’d fight for is Stark and my personal favorite flavor is the Targaryen. Who do I want to sit on the Iron Throne? Idk I sort of hope it burns to the grown. Break the wheel, right?
I hope you enjoy these popsicles and if you make them, tag me at @Elle_Talk on Instagram and use #BoozyTalk to share your boozy party creations! Happy Thronesings and I hope we end this season on the mega high we’ve been riding for the whole show. Let me know if you want my final thoughts on the series finale, I wouldn’t love to do a recap.
Cheers friends!
