By the time August rolls around we are pros at throwing a BBQ as we’ve been in good practices since Memorial Day. Anyone else feel that way? By the time the end of summer rolls around, we’ve learned what new recipes people love and what isn’t worth the effort. Something I’ve learned this year that ticks all the boxes for a summer party is this Frosé Beer Punch. It’s a big batch cocktail that’s fruity, boozy, and never has leftovers. It’s got all the delicious flavors of Frosé thanks to Master of Mixes Frosé Mixer but with a spin of swapping rosé for strawberry beer and white rum. It’s then soaked with wood-plank grilled fruit for a smoky-sweet pink summer punch that guests love. Here’s how to make it for your next summer get together.
FROSÉ BEER PUNCH RECIPE
You can make Frosé Beer Punch with wood-plank grilled fruit, though it’s optional. If you already have the grill going though, it’s easy to throw on a wood plank for this added flavor. I love the touch of smoky flavor it brings and how the heat makes the fruit release their delicious juices into the punch. If you choose to forgo the wood-plank method, make sure you have very ripe fruit to throw into the punch. Everything else about this recipe is as simple as pour and stir with Master of Mixes’ easy to pour cocktail mix for a quick scratch-quality cocktail.
HOW TO WOOD-PLANK GRILL FRUIT
Submerge a wood plank in water for at least one hour before grilling. In the meantime, cut two peaches or nectarines into one-inch slices and remove the stems of one cup of strawberries.
Bring the grill to medium heat around 350 degrees (F). When heated, add the wood plank to the grill over indirect heat and close the lid. Let cook for 5-10 minutes or until it starts smoking.
Once smoking, flip the plank over and add fruit to the plank. Close the lid and let the fruit cook for 6-8 minutes or until the fruit softens. You’ll see juice starting to run from the strawberries when you try to pick them up. Check on your fruit halfway through. Keep a spray bottle of water nearby to put out any fires produced from the wood plank edges.
Make the punch from there. In a 3-quart punch bowl or dispenser, add the following:
- 1.5L of Master of Mixes Frosé Mix (1-1/2 Bottles)
- 24 ounces of Strawberry Lager (1.5 liters or 2-12 ounce bottles or 3 cups)
- 12 ounces of White Rum (1.5 cups)
- 8 ounces of Water
- 1 cup of wood-plank strawberries (stems removed)
- 1 cup of sliced wood-plank peaches or nectarines (roughly 2)
Stir together all of your ingredients until well combined. Let sit for 15 minutes before serving to let fruit release its juices (much like when making sangria). Give it one more stir before serving.
Serve on ice with fruit from the punch.
The strawberry lager makes this slightly hoppy but with extra berry flavor. The Master of Mixes Frosé Mix uses an exclusive gentle processing recipe that does not overcook the fruit, resulting in a fresh, true-to-fruit flavor, which adds real fruit notes of peach, citrus, strawberries, and pears for a cocktail that is all the tastes of summertime. Added with the slight smoke of the wood plank and brightness of white rum, it’s the perfect BBQ punch.
