Refreshing blueberry and raspberry cocktail made with vodka and sparkling lemonade inspired by Justin Timberlake’s “Braspberry”. Recipe for ages 21+.
We’re back! If you follow me on social media you know I’ve spent my time recently in North Carolina helping my parents settle into their new home. It was nice to get back to the mountains and be around family. This brasperry post was suppose to go up the day I came home (last Tuesday) but my flight got pushed back due to bad weather. So, my Dad shook up one of our famous martinis and I settled in for one more night with them. Once I was back I went into full blown workshop prep for Toast & Twirl and thus, we are finally back after a one week turned two week hiatus!
That also means Justin Timberlake’s whole brasperry craze has come and gone. If you missed it Justin Timberlake released a song called Brasperry and it turned into a bit of a joke of a commercial spot where he stuffs blueberries into raspberries. Which you know me, I love a good internet craze. So I grabbed a few blueberries, raspberries, and a muddler to build this crisp and tart, Braspberry Crush. Made with vodka and sparkling lemonade it’s such a refreshing drink we couldn’t dare skip sharing it, even if the trend has gone.
BRASPERRY CRUSH COCKTAIL
I love simple cocktails that are still equally as refreshing. Now a little thing you should know before making this. If you are person who doesn’t like raspberry seeds and blueberry skin hanging around in your drink, you’ll want to make this in a shaker then strain it. If you a straw sipper, also note this as well. If those two things don’t bother make your brasperry cocktail in the glass.
Into your highball glass or shaker add in 6 blueberries, 6 raspberries, and 1/2 ounce of lemon juice. Muddle until you’ve broken the skins down and juices have been released. (strain into a highball glass if you do not want berry seeds or skin) Add your bar spoon to your glass then fill the glass with ice. Pour in the vodka and sparkling lemonade giving it a stir until well combined. Serve with blueberries stuffed in raspberries as a garnish.

Add a bar spoon into the glass and then ice to the rim. Pour in the vodka and top off the rest with sparkling lemonade. Stir until well combined.
Garnish with blueberries that have been stuffed into the inside of a raspberry.
If you would like to strain this drink muddle the raspberries, bluerberries, and lemon juice together in a shaker. Then strain into a highball glass and follow the instructions from step two.
These are just really fun! The use of raspberries and lemon make it a tart drink while the blueberries tone it down with sweetness. While JT might have been joking about this delicious combo, we aren’t. We are fans and that’s for sure. We also find this cocktail pairs well with a bold gin if you want to make it more earthy. So feel free to play around with it. If you make this Brasperry Crush, tag us on Instagram and use our tag #BoozyTalk. That way others in our boozy talking community can see your creations.
Now I’m off to go play catch up from last week. I’ll be back with more content next week to help you get game day ready because, OH MY GOSH FOOTBALL SEASON IS HERE! Crazy right? Though I could totally see this as a Boston Patriots cocktail. How are you closing out the end of summer and gearing up for fall? We’re just trying to soak up this lovely little time with no school and no plans before life kicks back up again.
