An easy vanilla and chocolate Halloween Rumchata milkshake cocktail inspired by Hocus Pocus.
Happy Halloween weekend everyone!
Over the course of the month I've made a spell bounding cocktail and I've made cute boo-zy treats but for my final Halloween treat, I wanted to get a little spooky and creepy. Not to mention this adult RumChata milkshake is so incredibly simple to make that you'll be running amok in no time!
While this Rum Amok cocktail is ghoulish looking it was inspired by my favorite Halloween movie Hocus Pocus and my favorite Sanderson sister, Sarah. Sarah who even though is a soul sucking witch is still sweet and fun. She's not afraid to dine on creepy crawlers like spiders and has an open heart to all men! As terrifying as she seems, she's a total sweet treat. So we had to make her a cocktail that would cause you to run amuck and would bring all the boys to her yard! This is a Rum Amok adult milkshake!
This cocktail is a wonderful blend of vanilla and cinnamon that really is out of this world. Not to mention the little bits of chocolate sauce just makes for the perfect Halloween treat with a boozy touch.
The hardest part of this cocktail is making the chocolate blood syrup. If you want to just use strawberry syrup or just skip the gore for normal pre-made chocolate syrup, you absolutely can.
To make the sauce you put 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder, and 4 drops red food coloring into a saucepot on the stove over low heat. You are wanting to make a thick version of simple syrup. Once all the ingredients dissolve, let it sit over the heat until it's thick like syrup. Normally this takes about 8 minutes total. Let it cool completely before using. For the best effects, let it sit in the refrigerator for at least an hour before using. The thicker this is, the better it will stay on the walls of your glass.
After that, it's super simple. Into a blender add 5 ounces of RumChata and 1 pint of vanilla ice cream. Blend until smooth and creamy.
To add your chocolate blood sauce drizzle. Tilt your glass to about a 30-degree angle. Slowly pour in your sauce and let it run down the side of your glass. Repeat until you have the look all the way around the glass. Then carefully pour your milkshake in the middle of the glass until it is full. Serve with more chocolate blood sauce on top or with fun garnishes like faux spiders.
- 5 ounces RumChata
- 1 pint Vanillia Ice Cream
- 2 ounce Blood Chocolate Syrup
//Chocolate Blood Sauce//
1/2 cup Water
1/2 cup Sugar
2 tablespoons Cocoa Powder
4 drops Red Food Dye
In a sauce pan over low heat add in all of your ingredients. Let dissolve in pan until fully combined. Remove from heat when the sauce is as thick as syrup. About 8 minutes total. Let come cool completely before using.
Optional: Add to the fridge for atleast one hour to produce an even thicker sauce prior to use.
