All this week I’ve spoken about Valentine’s Day with B and a few of the funny moments we’ve shared along the way. However today I wanted to celebrate the people in my life who make it equally as special. My gals! That’s why I’ve brought in Kelsey from Candidly Kelsey to share her favorite ways to throw a Galentine’s Party. Let me tell you, girl knows how to throw a get together!
Hi Elle Talk readers! I’m Kelsey from CandidlyKelseyBlog.com. Michelle has so graciously welcomed me to her page today, and as Valentine’s Day is coming up, I thought I’d share some DIY Galentine’s Day party ideas. Because who says a day about love has to be exclusive to your significant other?
Now, if you’re
forever alone currently single like myself, a really fun way to spend Valentine’s Day is with your favorite gal pals. Depending on what you and your friends like to do when you get together, I’ve got a few different super easy Galentine’s Day Party ideas.
Galentine’s Day Party Drinks and Appetizers
Ladies Night OUT
Celebrate yourself and your single life (or not, happily taken friends are welcome too!) by kicking up your heels with your best friends on a Galentine’s Day Party night out! Put on your favorite outfit, everyone brings a dish and some drinks, then hit the town for some dancing when you’re all decently buzzed.
Whatever makes you feel like the fancy, gorgeous gal you are.
- Selfie Station on the Photo Wall (DIY one!)
- DIY Cupid’s Arrows, sunglasses, and feathered boas for picture props
Galentine’s Day Party Brunch
Maybe you and your friends all have significant others’, but still want to celebrate your lady love. Enjoy some Galentine’s Day brunch instead! Assign each gal a breakfast dish to bring, or let the gal who loves to cook play hostess (and everyone splits the food bill). Just make sure there is plenty of champagne to go around, and everyone can exchange Valentine’s Day stories over brunch.
- DIY glitter coated glasses for mimosas
- Confetti-covered tables
- Fresh, bright flowers to adorn the table
- DIY place setting cards
- Brunch chic (AKA: leggings, oversized sweater, big scarf)
- Literally, whatever you want!
- Mimosa Bar
- Bloody Mary Bar
- Bailey’s and Coffee
Anti-Valentine’s Day Movie Night In
And finally, for those who do not feel up to celebrating, why not commiserate together?
If you are feeling some hatred towards the opposite sex (or whatever gender you think is foxy), why not throw a black-themed rager? Skip the pink themed cocktails, uncomfortable going-out outfits, and enjoy a night-in of lady-love. Order in your favorite food and drinks, and hang out with your friends while watching all the old girl-power classics. Don’t forget to skip the make-up. Showering is optional for this Galentine’s Day Party.
- Anything heart shaped & black
- Bonus: ONESIES
- Whatever your favorite comfort food is, preferably greasy
- Dips, anything with cheese is a must
- Cake Batter Puppy Chow
- More Wine
Movies to watch:
- Legally Blonde
- A League of Their Own
- Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
- House Bunny
Literally, the sky is the limit when you’re hanging out with your best friends. Use
Single’s Awareness Day Valentine’s Day to celebrate the ladies you’re thankful to have in your life. We could always use a way to celebrate!
