Last week I mentioned in a post about Blogger Meetups that I always feel like I have somewhere to be. Also that I love getting to share these events with you on social media, and take you along for the fun. Yet, it can feel a little overwhelming. While I work from home and have this home business, I hardly feel like I'm actually at home. I've had to learn to schedule out my days and keep them organized to prevent needing time outs. I call it being an "on the go influencer" aka I never stop moving.
Do you ever get that way? Where you need to just take a break from your daily grind because you've packed it too full. Luckily I've finally found the perfect layout to staying organized in my daily routine. Sans that overwhelming feeling of having too much on my plate. Thanks to Walmart Family Mobile Plus I can do just that! Plus with their rollback prices, I get to worry less about data charges when staying organized while on the go and more about creating fun interactions with you guys! With unlimited talk, text, and up to 10GB of 4G LTE date, I can stay efficient in my routine and share what I want, when I want. What does a day in the life look like for me?
MY DAILY ROUTINE AS AN INFLUENCER ON THE GO
I particularly like to get up early somewhere in the realm of 6:30 AM. Since I work from home even outside of blogging, I find it essential to start my day just like I was going to the office. It's easy to want to just stay in bed, but having a set time helps avoid that.
Mornings for me mean coffee, checking emails, pitching to brands, and responding to your comments. I also grab my phone and check my schedule for the day. I use apps to help measure my productivity so I can plan better. I'm always checking things off, adding to my schedule, and measuring my efficiency.
After that I hit the road to grab what items I need for upcoming blog posts and to run errands. Of course my shopping trips out involve many SnapChats back and forth between other blog friends. Examples: "Coffee chats!" "Do these colors work?" "This prop screams summer, right? Sidenote look how cute Georgia is this morning!!" Behind the scenes at it's finest, and you're missing out if you're not following along. Snap me!
Once my errands are done, I grab lunch. Lunch is something I have scheduled into my day, because even as a foodie, I easily can get really caught up in my projects and forget a meal.
Once home it's time to prep, photograph, and make future posts. Did you know one of the hardest but most asked posts on this space are my cocktail and mocktail recipes? Once you make a beverage, you have a short shoot frame to work with. Ice melts, layers meld, and garnishes lose their freshness. Propping and prepping before making any drink is a must. I normally create the entire scene before putting the drink on the table and practice shoot it. There is a lot of work behind those Instagram posts you guys love!
Evenings are when my day picks up the most and I feel like I have to be at a million places at once. Around 6:30PM I'm at an event in Houston, and even splitting my evening up between two meetups. I love going to events that help boost my creativity and lets me connect with other bloggers. Plus it's always fun to live tweet events and share the upcoming details of new trends! With 10GB of 4G LTE data I can live tweet the night away, because those APPs are data suckers. I'm serious, back when I had 1GB of data I could burn through it in a week with using just SnapChat. Not to mention I actually get to use a phone meant for being social with the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime which I got from Walmart as well for only $79.92 originally, $99.92. With a super easy set up of just purchasing the Starter Kit for $25 that comes with your sim card and activation number, just about anyone can get service. You get this easy to start post-paid Walmart Family Mobile Plus service with unlimited talk, text, and data (up to 10GB) plus one free VUDU movie rental (new rentals are $7) every month for just $49.88. With more events coming up in the warmer weather and tax refunds heading out, it's the perfect time get a mobile plan to fit a more social lifestyle. That's why I'm so excited about it because it's the perfect fit for a creative.
When 9:30 comes I try to get home so that I can spend time put prepping the next day's post. I also take this time to share some of my favorite Pins on Pinterest. When 10:30PM comes though, an alarm goes off on my phone. That's the time to turn off social media and wind down. Working from home sometimes can make you feel like you constantly have to be "on". It's good to set reminders to shut your work down. Winding down at night for me involves turning on a movie with my husband and grabbing a glass of wine. Using the perk from our new phone plan, we pick out our one free movie from VUDU and tether it to our TV from my phone. After that it's to bed, which typically Georgia has already beaten us too. Is there anything better than snuggling up to a warm, sleepy pup at the end of a long work day?
That's what one of my days looks like as a creative. Now not everyday is like this because I do have to work from home. Those days are a lot more lackluster with zero creativity. Which really makes me appreciate the opportunity I have with getting days to work solely on this blog. It might not involve ever having a day off but if you're getting a chance to do what you love, does it matter?
